Our region’s stunning views are some of the most photogenic in the world. Exploring the gloriously green wonderland of our coastal cities is a feast for the eyes. If Washington’s Evergreen Coast could speak, it would tell tales of misty mornings and sun-dappled afternoons. It would sing about our ocean’s relentless dance with the shore, surrounded by towering trees. It’s where verdant greens mix with sea blues to paint the landscape like a masterpiece. If there were only one reason to visit our sanctuary by the sea, it would be the breathtaking beauty you will experience around every bend on our roads. But we’re more than just a pretty face.

Outdoor Adventures on Washington’s Evergreen Coast

Find Yourself on Washington's Evergreen Coast

Washington’s Evergreen Coast is an explorer’s playground. Our exceptional fresh-air fun is second to none.

Hike through the sage-leafed canopy of trees in Cape Disappointment down to the ebbing waves of Beard’s Hollow for beachcombing. Kayak the tranquil Willapa River in Raymond and take in the forested banks from the calm waters. Stroll along the art-dotted Willapa National Wildlife Refuge Art Walk and feel the patter of rain as you walk through the pines. Bike or hike the picturesque 8.5-mile Discovery Trail with its dazzling ocean views and dense forests.

If you’re a fishing aficionado, look no further than our waves. You can trace much of our coast’s history to a line and a lure. Gear up at Spawn Fly Fish and cast out at Black Lake. The lake’s calm waters and surrounding greenery make it a perfect spot to hook rainbow trout. Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, take in a fishing charter out of the forest-hugged port town of Ilwaco. Fish for salmon, crab, and the prehistoric sturgeon.

We have hundreds of ways to explore the great wide open because adventure is rooted in our history.
