Active adventures await you and your family on the Washington Coast

As summer quickly approaches and schools get ready to ring that final bell, fight cabin fever by exploring what the Washington Coast has to offer with your favorite people. The Long Beach Peninsula is hosting a series of active events this spring and summer that you and your family do not want to miss out on!

These family-friendly active events include the following:

Pacific Coast Running Festival (May 12-14)

A great way to get your whole family involved. This 3-day fun-filled festival has events for kids, a non-competitive bike tour, and several race options including a sand marathon, 1/2 marathon, 5k/10k run or walk, and a sunset 5k run & walk. Throughout the weekend enjoy a Health & Wellness Expo hosted by event partners, a beer and food garden courtesy of Deschutes Brewery, live entertainment, and other finish line festivities. Prices for registration increase after May 7th, so make sure to register as soon as possible.

Peninsula Heart & Stroke Walk (June 3)

A 3-mile walk (or 1-mile walk if you are a survivor) along the beautiful Discovery Trail. Put on by Ocean Beach Hospital and the American Heart Association, this walk for a cause is a fundraiser to help raise money for heart disease and stroke research, training more people in lifesaving CPR, and medical breakthroughs. Join your friends, family, and co-workers, start a team, join a team, or sign up as an individual to help raise money for a great cause. Make sure to choose “Heart Walk” as your location and if you start a team select “Peninsula Heart Walk” under the company drop down menu. Beach to Chowder (June 10)

A 5k, 10k, and 1/2 marathon that will have you and your family sprinting to that spoon! Run or walk on hard packed sand along the surf, enjoy parts of the beautiful Discovery Trail, and afterwards celebrate your accomplishments with a warm bowl of clam chowder at the local restaurant Drop Anchor. Ride the Willapa (June 24)
