Spring has sprung! Head to the Washington Coast to celebrate springtime PNW-style. Are you already fantasizing about spring break? Looking for some unforgettable experiences? The Long Beach Peninsula and Pacific County have an array of springtime traditions, from the famous Razor Clam Festival to a Sailing Yacht Regatta to colorful art shows. Sou’wester Arts Week

March 27th-April 3rd

Artists and art collectives will be taking over Sou’wester for a week of residency work. The public is invited to their open houses and performances throughout the event. They will be highlighting the “experiential nature of the Sou’wester Residency Program”, which means you’ll have the chance to interact with artists at work! Peninsula Arts Association Spring Arts Show

April 8th-10th

The Peninsula Arts Association hosts its spring show in the Long Beach Train Depot. Artists enter their work into the show for purchase, and spectators can vote on their favorite pieces for the People’s Choice Award! Lives art demos take place throughout the weekend.

Admission is free, but you can buy raffle tickets, which benefit the PAA’s scholarship and youth art enrichment funds.

Long Beach Razor Clam Festival

April 16th-17th

The Long Beach Razor Clam Festival is a tradition dating back to the 40s. Take clam digging lessons and try clam fritters, enter the clam chowder taste-off, and don’t forget to visit the giant frying pan and spitting razor clam sculpture! And in honor of Long Beach’s 100 centennial celebration live music will be happening in Veterans Field from March 5th- April 30th.

Black Lake Fishing Derby – Just for Kids!

April 23rd

The annual Black Lake Fishing Derby is a free fishing competition for kids! The lake is stocked with trout for the event. Win prizes, eat pancakes, enjoy delicious hot chocolate, and more. Registration will open soon on the city of Ilwaco’s website. Participants get a free t-shirt to commemorate the event.

May 12th-15th

Pacific Coast Running Festival 

May 13th-15th

Pacific Coast events begin Friday afternoon, with the competition and fun continuing into Sunday afternoon. This event has something for the whole family.  Events include Kids 1/2 mile & 1-mile Dashes, Pedal and Dash, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, and Bike Tour. Rally your friends & family for an incredible RACE-cation while you explore Long Beach Peninsula!
