Things to Do in Ilwaco 

 

Hike and Bike along the 8.5-mile long Discovery Trail named after the Corps of Discovery. 

Explore Cape Disappointment State Park for lighthouses, gorgeous beaches, and a rich history. (You’ll need a Discover Pass)

Follow the trail spur to Beard’s Hollow or the North Head Lighthouse.

Take your fishing rod to Black Lake for trout and bass fishing. Hike the trails around the lake or bring along a mountain bike. 

Visit the Columbia Pacific Heritage Museum and learn more about the history of Chinook Nation and Clamshell Railroad.

Port of Ilwaco 

 

This 800 slip marina has plenty of parking for vehicles and trailers as well as amenities. There is guest moorage available year round as well as back in launch, two small boat hoists, live bait pens and fuel docks. Self/full service work yard and dry boat storage is also available

After your big catch, head on over to the Sportsman Cannery, the one stop shop for fish processing and clam cleaning.

Away from bustling downtown, Ilwaco provides many unique lodging options. Stay at quaint cottages, yurts, hotels overlooking the port, or even historic lighthouse quarters!

Camping in Ilwaco 

 

Camp close to the beach or at the port. Discover all camping and RV Parks in Ilwaco. Make your reservations as far in advance as possible as spaces fill up quickly during the peak season, which runs from Spring Break through October. Do not camp on the beach or at beach approaches.

 

Events in Ilwaco 

 

The port of Ilwaco is home to many family-friendly events such as the Saturday Market in the summer, Art Walk, Crab Pot Christmas as well as the starting point and home of the PNW Offshore Race.
