Toasting to a New Year: Quench Your Thirst on the Coast
Start your 2025 bucket list with a toast! The Evergreen Coast is home to a growing list of celebrated hometown craft breweries, a winery, a distillery, and a cidery. The local love poured into every pint or glass is infused with the region’s unique flavors and coastal flair.
Swing by Willapa Brewing Co. in South Bend for a pint of Oyster IPA, a hoppy brew with a briny punch direct from our Goose Point oysters. Meet at North Jetty Brewing for a sip of the signature Yellow Boots Kolsch or Leadbetter Red Scottish Ale. Hit up Ilwaco Cider Company and tuck into their Fisherman’s Flannel cider, crispy with the spirit of Ilwaco. Get excited for the reopening of the beloved Wild Man Brewing Company, which is returning with its mead and ale in 2025.
For wine enthusiasts, swirl your glass of Willapa Red at WooHoo Winery. Or sip and savor the flavors of the coast at Adrift Distillers. A sample of their Love Warrior Gin or Rhubarb Elderflower Liqueur will tickle your fancy for the new year.
Walk One of the World’s Longest Beaches
One of the reasons Long Beach Peninsula should be on your 2025 bucket list is the beach itself. We boast one of the world’s longest stretches of uninterrupted sand. Our endless beach stretches over 28 miles, framed by evergreen trees and an unrelenting chorus of whitecapped waves.
With plenty of pockets for solitude, our beach is the perfect place to practice mindfulness in the new year. In addition to the salt-kissed serenity, experience the magic of the natural habitat our shoreline creates. Bald eagles swoop and nest over the nearby boardwalk. Snowy plovers dance staccato along the dunes. Bubbles of hidden razor clams pop along the edge of the waves. The golden hour of sunset along our coast is a treasure of its own. Capture the slow hiss of the sun as it sinks below the horizon and lights the sky with the patinaed drama of its final bow.
Our Bucket List Festivals in 2025
Washington’s wild Evergreen Coast comes alive during festival season. The warming weather signals the start of a summer-long season of annual fests and celebrations. Mark your calendars for the return of these bucket list festivals in 2025.
Long Beach Peninsula Razor Clam and Shellfish Festival
The beloved Razor Clam Festival held its first event in 1940. Our shoreline is known for hiding the secretive and coveted mouth-watering mollusk, so it makes perfect sense to shellabrate it. The multi-day fest includes live music, a beer garden, and the hotly competitive clam chowder contest.
Tokeland Woodfest
For over 16 years, the Tokeland Woodfest has added a little buzz to the lush forests and coastline of Tokeland, Washington. What started as a carver party by the international wood artist Jeffro Uitto has grown into two days of music, food, and art. Guests can experience local artists creating live chainsaw carvings in the heartland of loggers.
Washington State International Kite Festival
The skies of Long Beach come alive during the Washington State International Kite Festival. The sight of hundreds of colorful kites swooping, spinning, and flying is a must-see moment for your 2025 bucket list. The annual festival has been painting the horizon since 1981. The week-long event draws hundreds of thousands of spectators eager to gawk at the sky’s fluttering festivities.
Feast on World-Famous Oysters in 2025
A visit to Washington’s Evergreen Coast isn’t complete without indulging in its signature shellfish – the Willapa Bay oyster. Our world-famous oysters are 2025 bucket list-worthy because we produce some of the best you’ve ever slurped. Plump, salty-sweet, and tender, our coveted crustaceans are a hot commodity. 25% of the nation’s oysters come from our estuaries, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Sample the clean and luxurious gems at any of the restaurants in Pacific County, like the brand-new Sandbar Food Court. You’ll find them fried, sauteed, or straight-up in a shot glass. One of our favorite ways to enjoy them is right along the water at Goose Point Oystery or Oysterville Sea Farms.
Bucket List Outdoor Experiences in the New Year
If your 2025 bucket list includes outdoor fun, we have you covered. Washington’s Evergreen Coast is unmatched for outdoor activities and wonder. With seven state parks and five wildlife preservations and refuges, our coast’s natural beauty is booming. Some standout highlights for your next year’s adventures include:
Camping at Snow Peak Campfield
Snow Peak Campfield is the first Snow Peak campground outside of Japan. Tucked into the woods of Long Beach, the stunning experience seamlessly blends a camping experience with the harmony of nature. Jyubako cabins and breathtaking campsites surround a café and store designed to foster the spirit of Takibi Time (gathering with loved ones). The onsite Ofuro Spa offers tranquility amongst the birch trees. Experience summertime oyster grills in the warm evening air and peruse the market for international delicacies found nowhere else on the peninsula.
Dig It! Unearthing Razor Clams in 2025
We’ve already established that our coastline is known for its razor clams. So, when razor clam digging days arrive, our beaches are popping with diggers. This bucket list activity is fun for the whole family. Our elusive creatures leave telltale signs of their hiding spots, which makes the dig a delicious treasure hunt. These amber-hued beauties are known for their tender and mild flavor, which makes them a yummy reward after a hearty dig.
Experience the King of the Bucket List During the 2025 Storm Season
All hail the storm season along Washington’s Evergreen Coast. If you haven’t experienced it yet, write “See Long Beach Peninsula’s King Tides” on your 2025 bucket list. Winter winds are anything but dreary during one of the most powerful times along our temperamental shore.
King Tides are a natural phenomenon that occurs during new and full moons. These powerful waves are the most extreme tides of the year and usher in the sea’s most stunning tantrum. Wild waves hurl themselves against rocky cliff faces, creating a briny spray that shoots hundreds of feet high. The roar of the wailing water can drown out any conversation, which is helpful because you’ll be speechless at the spectacle. As the water churns furiously, haunting colors of emerald and sapphire peek from under the pewter lace of the whitecaps. It’s one of the most beautiful displays of nature, and we have it in our backyard.
